I love finding economic meals to feed my family with. And when it can be made to be low in fat, that is a plus. We do eat butter, whole milk, and tend to stay away from low-fat products (like low-fat cheeses), so that can be tricky. When I cook I don't open cans (unless it is the middle of winter and I have run out of my tomato sauce) and the only packages I open contain tortillas, won ton wraps, miso paste, pasta, meat (I don't butcher my own, thank you), and the occasional Trader Joe's Joe-Joe.
