A Visit to The City

Our travels around Christmas time usually involve visiting The City.

We do pretty much the same things every time we come; but we still love it.

First stop was Fisherman's Wharf.

This is the BEST place in the whole world to get a loaf of Sourdough bread.

We took our clam chowder and bread to a nice quiet spot and all dove in.

Then it was off to China Beach, on the steep hills, of course.

The day was a beautiful one....

...and the view was gorgeous.

Only in California (and maybe in Florida and Texas) can we do this in December.

Watching the waves....

...making sand castles....

...and digging holes.

It was such a mild day that getting a bit wet was just fine.

laughter leaving us memories to treasure today
and forever after."

Then we were off to our final stop: Japantown.

We were very disappointed, the Taiyaki lady had sold out and there were none left.

So we went upstairs and got a Nutella and Vanilla ice cream filled crepe at the crepe shop.

We went to our favorite store, Ichiban-Kan, which is super fun since it is a Japanese dollar store.

I love this place.

Every child gets to pick out a new rice bowl for the next year.

Here is Nutsy with hers:

And of course we browse around and look at all the stuff. The bento box aisle was lots of fun.

Finally, on the way home we stopped at In-N-Out.

If you have never been to one, you are missing something very tasty.

And that was our short, but fun filled trip. We had a wonderful time seeing family and friends and are very blessed to be able to see them.
